Meet Sharni

Bachelor of Health Science - Acupuncture Therapies

Sharni is a registered acupuncturist with AHPRA and member of the Australian Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA).

With a special interest in treating women’s health, men and women’s fertility, chronic stress and mental health challenges - her treatments are gentle and intentional with a focus on refined technique.

Sharni’s own experience with mental and physical health challenges is how she discovered acupuncture - with a keen interest in the patterns that underpin symptoms, not just the symptoms themselves. Passionate about how acupuncture can create lasting shifts in both the physical body and human spirit.

Alongside her acupuncture practice, Sharni is also completing further study in Chinese Herbal Medicine to deepen her understanding and expand her clinical offerings.

My Path to Studying Chinese Medicine

I began studying Chinese Medicine in 2022, after previously working in allied health and the medicinal cannabis field for a number of years supporting other health practitioners. Having always had an interest in the human body, the subconscious and holistic wellbeing, Chinese Medicine felt like the perfect blend of science and philosophy.

My Treatment Approach

Drawing on classical acupuncture approaches, I support individuals in reconnecting with their bodies and developing a deeper understanding of their health. I really value collaboration, and I like to work in partnership with each individual to support change. The approach I take to my acupuncture practice is both gentle and intentional, with an emphasis on refined technique.

About Me

Born on the Gold Coast but I spent many years living on Mount Tamborine, and was lucky enough to be influenced very early on by traditional health habits of my grandparents - simple principles passed down through generations such as never going to bed with wet hair, always wearing socks on cold tiles, keeping the body warm with singlets and layers, lavender on the pillow at night and lots of home-cooking.

Outside of acupuncture I also enjoy art. I’ve been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember and before studying acupuncture, I had considered pursuing a tattoo apprenticeship, however, I decided to keep my art practice as something personal.

For those with an interest in astrology - I am a Leo, with a 12th House Leo Stellium, Moon in Taurus and Ascendent in Virgo. I also have a grand earth trine in my chart which I feel serves me greatly. If you’re not into astrology - all this means is that I am grounded, observant, a little strange, and always interested in what’s happening beneath the surface - which is why I love Chinese Medicine; taking someone’s pulse or inspecting their tongue to gain a deeper perspective of what’s truly happening internally.
